EVANSTON, Ill. (WLS) -- Evanston police arrested a man wanted on a federal narcotics warrant during a traffic stop Tuesday night.

Police say that while conducting a traffic stop in the 1300-block of Howard Street, officers discovered the driver, 32-year-old Alexandria Barnett of Chicago, had a suspended license. The passenger in her vehicle initially gave a fake name, police say. When his real name was revealed, police say a name check on Corey Eaton, 34, of Hattiesburg, Miss., turned up an active federal narcotics warrant from the U.S. Marshals Service.

Police say a search of the car uncovered a stuffed animal filled with an unknown white substance that has been sent off to a lab for identification. Police also recovered six cell phones and over $7,000 in cash.

Eaton was turned over to the U.S. Marshals Service. Barnett is charged with one misdemeanor count of driving on a suspended license and a traffic citation for a broken tail light.
