Girl, 15, shot in back on South Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are searching for a gunman after a 15-year-old girl was shot in the Marquette Park neighborhood.

Police say the girl and a 20-year-old man were standing outside in the 6800-block of South Maplewood about 2:50 p.m. when the suspect came up to them and opened fire.

The girl was shot in the back and is in stable condition at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn. The man was shot in the leg.

Police say the 20-year-old is a documented gang member.
