ELGIN, Ill. (WLS) -- Bond has been set for an Elgin hairdresser accused of using an elderly customer's card for over $6,000 worth of purchases, police said.

Jenifer Perik, 42, allegedly used her 94-year-old client's Discover credit card to make personal purchases without the client's consent, police said. Investigators say between August 2014 and January 2015, there were 35 charges allegedly made by Perik to the account totaling more than $6,100.

Officials said the victim contacted police when she noticed unusual activity on her account, prompting the investigation.

Perik faces one count of aggravated identity theft, one count of unlawful use of a credit card, three counts of financial institution fraud and one count of continuing a financial crimes enterprise. Her bond was set at $200,000 Saturday.
