CHICAGO (WLS) -- Randy Kendricks, of Harvey, made his first court appearance Saturday after being charged for allegedly hitting a Chicago police officer with a vehicle.

Police say they say saw Kendricks, 19, and another man in a stolen van Thursday and tried to pull them over on the 6000-block of South Wolcott. The men allegedly took off and hit a squad car, officials said. An officer got out of the car and says Kendricks sped up and hit him with the van.

The officer was hospitalized in good condition.
