Harvey man charged in Dixmoor murder

DIXMOOR, Ill. (WLS) -- A 19-year-old man was charged Monday with first-degree murder in the weekend killing of an 18-year-old man in suburban Dixmoor, police said.

Eduardo Ocampo, of Harvey, was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly fatally shot Gabino Barrera, who had just turned 18 one day earlier, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office.

Barrera was found with several gunshot wounds in the driver's seat of a truck located on the 14000-block of Western Avenue.

Ocampo is being held in lieu of $1 million bond. His next court date is scheduled for May 9.
