Human remains found near Palos Park retention pond

PALOS PARK, Ill. (WLS) -- Human remains were found in southwest suburban Palos Park near a retention pond.

Police received a call Sunday afternoon regarding the discovery near Wolf Road. The remains were taken to the Cook County medical examiner's office.

No positive identification has been made. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.

John Cunningham, 27, has been missing from the area since October.
