CORINTH, Tx. (WLS) -- An underweight bear cub wandered into a Texas neighborhood and residents called for help.

The young Black bear looks harmless enough, sitting in a cage.

But people called police when they saw the cub playing in their yards and climbing trees. An animal control crew eventually got hold of him.

He's only a few months old. He was hungry and in need of medical care. Police said someone had been keeping the bear as a pet, which is illegal.

The cub will be nursed back to health and taken to a wildlife center.
