CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill. (WLS) -- A body found in a retention pond last week in northwest suburban Crystal Lake has been identified.

Officers responded about 11:30 a.m. June 19 to a report of a body in the pond in the 4400 block of Northwest Highway, according to Crystal Lake police. The person was dead at the scene.

On Tuesday, the McHenry County Coroner released the ID of the man as Eulalio Elizarraraz Soto, 27, of Carpentersville. His cause of death was drowning.

"We have no reason to believe a threat to the public exists," police said.
