ROSEMONT, Ill. (WLS) -- Crews started installing a $300,000 statue honoring Donald Stephens, the first mayor of Rosemont. The statue will sit near Village Hall.

Stephens spent 51 years as mayor building the western suburb from the ground up.

The statue shows him with his hands over the village's iconic water tower.

An official unveiling is set for Sunday morning at 10 a.m.

The ABC7 I-Team reported on the statue earlier this week.
