CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago Teacher's Union President Karen Lewis is talking for the first time about her health two months after she was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Wednesday night, she attended the CTU House of Delegates meeting to introduce candidate for mayor Chuy Garcia. She told Eyewitness News she won't be back to work until next month.

"The hardest part is just getting used to slowing down for a while, as my doctors tell me you know listen to your body," Lewis said.

Lewis says she's getting chemotherapy five days a week. Other than being tired, she says she's feeling pretty well.
