Police hope surveillance video leads them to a man who burglarized a home in Houston while its owners were inside.

Surveillance cameras caught the man trying to hop a fence about 9:45 p.m. Thursday, according to police. While his first attempt was unsuccessful, he later managed to get inside the couple's home.

"The fact that somebody came into my space and took my things while I was here, how brazen is that?" the homeowner, who asked that he wasn't identified, told ABC affiliate KTRK.

Video showed him wandering around the patio, seemingly undeterred by the lights and TV on inside. He later went upstairs, taking a wallet and a watch from a bedroom where one of the homeowners was asleep.

"Makes me wonder: has he been here before?" said the homeowner.

The burglar also swiped a laptop and some food before leaving, police said.

"I 100 percent feel violated," said the homeowner.

The homeowners said they'll add more security cameras in and around their home.
