OAK BROOK, Ill. (WLS) -- A 24-year-old Glen Ellyn man died early Sunday after he was seen struggling in a pond in west suburban Oak Brook, police said.

Isaac Martinez was seen struggling in the water for about 30 minutes before a dive team responded to the pond in the Briarwood Lakes subdivision, police said. When rescuers arrived they did not immediately see him struggling. He was unresponsive when they pulled him from the water.

He was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Police found a disabled vehicle nearby, which they determined was driven by Martinez prior to him being found in the water.
