HAMMOND, Ind. (WLS) -- A man was found shot and wounded Saturday afternoon in the parking lot of a South Shore Line train station in Hammond in northwest Indiana, police said.

Police are searching for a suspected shooter, who they said ran away, according to a 3 p.m. statement from the Hammond Police Department.

Police responded at about 2 p.m. to the parking lot, located in the 4500-block of Hohman Avenue.

The shooting victim was hospitalized.

John Parsons, a South Shore spokesman, said the incident was a domestic dispute that did not disrupt train service or affect other patrons.

The incident occurred south of the CSX tracks, just west of Hohman Avenue, he said.
