Man found shot to death near Back of the Yards ATM

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 19-year-old man is dead after being found face-down in an alley Thursday night on Chicago's Southwest Side.

Juan C. Gonzalez was shot in the chest near an ATM near 47th and Wood in the Back of the Yards neighborhood.

The man was found next to the silver Volvo SUV he'd been driving around 10:20 p.m. Thursday. It stopped just before it hit a wall near the exit of the Citibank's 24-hour drive-up cash machine.

Investigators are trying to find out if the death is linked to an armed robbery.

Gonzalez, of the 5100 block of South Bishop, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:20 p.m., authorities said.
