LOWELL, Ind. (WLS) -- A man is in serious condition after a crash with a semi-truck on an I-65 ramp in northern Indiana, police said.

Dean James, 59, was driving the semi-truck eastbound on State Road 2 near I-65 around 10:02 p.m. Saturday, police said. James told police he began to make a left turn on a green arrow to enter the I-65 ramp; as he made the turn, the arrow turned to yellow and then quickly changed into a green with yield to oncoming traffic. His truck was then allegedly hit on the passenger side by a 2007 Chrysler driven by Andrew Roe, 18, police said.

Roe was hospitalized with serious injuries while James was uninjured.

Police have not released any other details.
