Man shot, critically injured in North Lawndale

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man was shot and critically injured in a shooting in Chicago's North Lawndale neighborhood.

Police say a 22-year-old man was leaving a store in the 3200-block of West 16th Street shortly after 1 a.m. when someone got out of a vehicle and opened fire.

The victim was shot in the chest and taken to Saint Anthony Hospital in critical condition. He was later transferred to Mount Sinai Hospital. Police say the victim is a documented gang member. The shooting is under investigation.
