Man tries to abduct girl, 13, walking to school in South Chicago

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man tried to grab a 13-year-old girl who was on her way to school in the city's South Chicago neighborhood.

Police said the girl was walking the 9000-block of South Brandon Avenue around 7:45 a.m. on June 17 when a man started following her and grabbed her by the arm.

The girl told police she fought back and was able to get away.

Police described the suspect as an African American man around 30-32 years old and between 5 ft. 5 in and 5 ft. 7 in. tall. He has short, black hair, brown eyes, a mustache and some hair on his chin. He was wearing a red jacket, light blue jeans and headphones.
