CHICAGO (WLS) -- People on Chicago's South Side will soon have a new place to read and learn.
Mayor Rahm Emanuel read to some kids at Whittier Elementary School on South Corliss.
On Tuesday he announced that a new library is coming to the Altgeld Gardens housing projects which is located nearby.
It will be built on land along 130th Street near Ellis Avenue. Work on the project starts next year.
