Meade Electric Company is moving its headquarters from McCook to Chicago.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Meade Electric Company is moving its headquarters from McCook to Chicago.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel and company officials made the announcement Friday from its new base near Midway Airport.

Meade is one of the region's largest electrical contractors.

The company bought the building and site from International Paper.

Meade employs approximately 2,000 people in the area.
