MIDLOTHIAN, Ill. (WLS) -- A 52-year-old Midlothian man was arrested Monday morning after he barricaded himself in his home when Cook County Sheriff deputies attempted to execute an eviction, a sheriff's office spokeswoman said.

When officers went to the home in the 14900-block of Ridgeway in south suburban Midlothian they heard commotion from the detached garage.

The man pointed a shotgun at deputies, but officers drew their weapon and directed him to drop his weapon, said Cara Smith, of the sheriff's office. Instead, the man retreated into the garage and barricaded himself. The man's wife worked with the Cook County hostage team to help coax him out.

No injuries were reported.
