CHICAGO (WLS) -- A new initiative in Cook County will help bring nutritious food those who need it most.

The two-year plan is designed to create new solutions to food insecurity.

The team effort between Cook County and the Greater Chicago Food Depository will provide fresh fruits and vegetables to people who do not have access to them.

Officials say more than 760,000 Cook County residents struggle with food insecurity.
