Pedestrian struck by Metra train near Hinsdale

HINSDALE, Ill. -- Metra BNSF trains were stopped and then delayed after a pedestrian was struck near West Hinsdale, officials said.

Train #1275 on the BNSF line was traveling outbound to Aurora about 6:20 p.m. when it struck the pedestrian at the railway's intersection with South Stough Street, according to Metra Spokesman Michael Gillis.

Additional details, including the circumstances of the accident, the victim's name and the victim's condition were not immediately available.
