BROADVIEW, Ill. (WLS) -- Police in west suburban Broadview are investigating the murder of Dicelena Lucas, 54, after the Cook County medical examiner ruled her death a homicide.

Lucas was found in her home in the 1900-block of South 17th Avenue last week. She was pronounced dead just before 4 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 2.

Someone called 911 to request an ambulance at 11:14 p.m. the night before. Broadview police said paramedics requested that officers come to the home based on the severity of her injuries.

An autopsy found Saturday that Lucas died of "penetrating injuries" to her left arm. Her death was ruled a homicide.

Police are interviewing witnesses at this point in the investigation.
