Police issue alert after armed robberies on West Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police have issued a community alert after a series of armed robberies in the Austin neighborhood this month.

The victims were approached by one or two armed robbers who demanded property from the victims while pointing a hand gun at them, police said.

The robberies occurred in the 200-block of North Pine at 3:30 a.m. on Nov. 8, the 200-block of South Lotus at 5:45 p.m. on Nov. 9 and in the 5300-block of West Madison at 9:45 p.m. on Nov. 17.

Police said one suspect is described as a man 20-25 years old, weighing 165-175 pounds and wearing all black clothing. Two other suspects are described as men, approximately 18 years old and wearing all black clothing. Police are also searching for a female suspect, approximately 5'5".
