WAUKEGAN, Ill. (WLS) -- Police are investigating an armed robbery reported at a Waukegan liquor store.
A store clerk told police that he was closing up the store, located in the 2800-block of Grand Avenue, when a suspect entered and demanded money around 10:20 p.m. Sunday. The suspect then allegedly fired one round during the robbery, striking a cooler in the store, police said.
The clerk was not injured in the incident, and the suspect allegedly fled the scene on foot.
The suspect is described as a black man around 5-foot-10 with a medium build, police said. He was wearing a black leather coat, jeans and a yellow cloth around his face at the time of the incident.
