Police warn of armed robberies on North, Northwest Sides

Chicago police released surveillance pictures of two men they say are involved in armed robberies targeting small retail stores.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are warning businesses about a series of armed robberies on the city's North and Northwest Sides.

Police said there have been five hold-ups over the past five weeks in which two to three men armed with a handgun rob retail stores.

The most recent robbery was on July 19 in the 3500-block of North Pulaski. The others occurred in the 2800-block of N. Ashland on July 3, in the 1400-block of N. Milwaukee on June 28, in the 900-block of W. Armitage on June 26, and in the 1500-block of N. Damen on June 17.

Investigators released surveillance pictures of the suspects on Wednesday. Anyone with information should call Area North detectives at (312) 744-8263.
