Police warn of armed robberies targeting delivery drivers in Humboldt Park

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are warning pizza delivery drivers about a series of armed robberies targeting them in Humboldt Park.

Police say the robberies occur in the 1300-block of North Mapelwood Avenue after the offenders place an order for pizza delivery. In each robbery, the men use a metal pole to threaten the driver and still their pizza order and cash. Police say in one incident the robber also stole the victim's car and fled in it.

Police describe the robber or robbers as one or two white Hispanic men. The first man is described as 18 to 25 years old, 5 ft. 11 in. to 6 ft. 2 in. tall, 175 to 180 lbs., with short brown eyes wearing a black or blue hooded sweatshirt and black jeans. The second man is described as a white Hispanic man, 20 to 25 years old, 5 ft. 6in. to 5 ft. 10 in. tall, 160-180 lbs. with brown eyes, styled blonde hair, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black jeans.
