Residents hail fire engine after Harvey home explodes in flames

In Harvey, residents ran into the street to flag down fire engines after a home explodes in flames near 147th and Center Ave.

Neighboring homes were doused with water because the blaze was so intense, firefighters were afraid it would spread down the block.

Fire departments from various suburban departments had to be called in for backup until the flames could be controlled.
