Safety alert issued after attempted molestation on South Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police issued a safety alert after someone tried to molest a child on Chicago's South Side.

Police say the boy was walking near 134th Street and South Indiana Avenue around 9:15 a.m. Monday when a man managed to lure him into a newer model black Jeep. Police say the offender drove into an alley where he tried to molest the boy.

The boy managed to escape unharmed.
