SEATTLE, Wa. (WLS) -- Seattle police released dash-cam video of a carjacking and chase that ended in a deadly shootout.

Officers responded to a report of a man with a gun at a coffee shop in downtown Seattle around 12:30 p.m. Sunday. Police said the suspect fled to a tattoo parlor, before stealing a red Volkswagen at gunpoint.

Investigators said he drove north to Seattle's Montlake neighborhood, where he stole another car. The video shows the suspect opened fire on the officers chasing him and led them through another area before crashing in the Wedgewood neighborhood.

Police said that's where the suspect opened fire on them again. The video shows officers returned fire and struck the suspect, killing him.

SPD said up to 11 officers are believed to have exchanged gunfire with the man during the chase.

The shootout, carjacking, chase and car accidents that occurred during the chase are all under investigation.
