Son arrested in Evanston man's murder in Michigan

TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. (WLS) -- A man was arrested Saturday in connection with the killing his father, a 70-year-old Evanston man, in Michigan.

Milton Hanson, 70, was found dead Friday at a home on Bunker Hill Road in Acme Township, Mich., when the Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office deputies conducted a welfare check, police said.

The deputy checked Hanson's home after a call came in regarding an altercation taking place inside the house.

Hanson's son, 31-year-old Luke Hanson, was arrested on Saturday in connection to his father's murder. He is currently staying at Grand Traverse Jail, police said.

Bail was set at $1 million. Hanson will be arraigned on Monday at the 86th District Court in Traverse City, Mich.
