Contrary to initial reports, Action News is told, that officer has not been interviewed by Police Internal Affairs.
Rather, the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office will decide whether the officer will be charged.
The incident happened at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the officer's home in the 2700 block of Taunton Street.
Police say four people were inside the home, including the 15th district officer, who was off-duty at the time.
They say the officer got into an argument with his son, which escalated into a physical altercation.
During the altercation, police say, the officer's personal gun was fired twice, striking the 19-year-old man in the torso.
The victim was taken to Aria Health Torresdale in critical, but stable condition.
The two other people in the home at the time were being questioned by police.
No charges have been filed. null
