State urges residents to sign up for tax return alerts

SPRINGFIELD (WLS) -- If you're expecting a tax refund from the state of Illinois you're being urged to register for an alert system.

The Comptroller's Office says you should register online to check the status of your state refund.

You can also sign up for text or e-mail notifications for when your tax refund payment has been made.
