CHICAGO (WLS) -- A man being chased by police jumped onto I-57 and was hit by a semi-truck on Chicago's South Side Thursday morning.
Authorities said Chicago police officers were chasing a man wanted for retail theft about 8:30 a.m. when he jumped from the 119th Street overpass onto I-57.
He jumped onto the bed of a semi truck, rolled off and was partially run over by the truck, police said.
The man, thought to be in his 20s, was taken in serious condition to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, police said.
His injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
