CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 15-year-old boy was critically injured in a drive by-shooting on the city's South side Saturday morning.

The mother of 15-year-old Bahari Malone says he was sitting outside his building around 4 a.m. in the 5900-block of South Michigan Avenue when someone drove past and fired three shots.

One of the shots struck the teenager in the neck.

Malone's mother is asking anyone with information to contact police. She says too many children are being hurt or killed by gun violence.

"I'm not just speaking because it was my son that got and hit close to home, I'm speaking about every parent that's experienced this," said Sharon Horne.
