FRANKFORT, Ill. (WLS) -- Frankfort police issued a warning Thursday regarding a rash of car burglaries in the southwest suburbs.

Police released a home security video showing an example of a recent burglary in the Lakeview East subdivision. In the video, cars drive up, people jump out, and they run to cars parked in a driveway.

Police did not release information regarding where exactly the burglaries took place.

The thieves are looking for unlocked cars to steal valuables, and they commit these crimes in a matter of seconds, police said.

Several other suburbs like Clarendon Hills, Hinsdale, and Elmhurst have also warned residents to keep their cars locked.
