CHICAGO (WLS) -- Two Chicago police officers and two good Samaritans were honored for their actions during a recent shooting.

On Valentine's Day, police said a shoplifting suspect grabbed an officer's gun outside a Walgreens store in the Andersonville neighborhood and fired one shot.

A manager of the store, Ray Robinson, forced the shooter's fingers off the weapon as officers wrestled with him. A customer, Christopher Smith, then helped officers hold the suspect down. Both men received certificates of appreciation.

Officers Joseph Groh and Michael Czopla were honored for their devotion to duty during a life-and-death struggle.
