Woman sexually assaulted at gunpoint in Park Forest

PARK FOREST, Ill. (WLS) -- Police in south suburban Park Forest said an 18-year-old woman was sexually assaulted at gunpoint by a stranger Tuesday afternoon.

Police said around 4:40 p.m. Monday afternoon, a man approached the woman near Wildwood Drive and Wilshire Street. The woman said she did not know her attacker.

The suspect is described as a black male between the ages of 18 and 24, 5 ft. 2 in. to 5 ft. 6 in. tall, with a medium athletic building, light to medium skin tone and a full but thin beard. The victim said he was wearing a black t-shirt and dark and light blue pajama-style pants. Police said he was armed with a handgun.

The victim said he also stole her backpack-style purse.
