Women who got life resentenced to 63 years

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Chicago woman serving a life sentence for a murder she committed as a teenager has been resentenced to 63 years in prison.

Jacqueline Montanez was 15-years-old when she and a 21-year-old woman shot and killed two rival male gang members near Humboldt Park.

Montanez was resentenced Friday under a U.S. Supreme Court ruling that vacates life sentences for juvenile offenders.

Montanez told the court she is not the monster she used to be.

With credit for time served, Montanez will be most likely be free in seven and half years.
