CHICAGO (WLS) -- Despite a compromise offer by Wrigley Rooftop owners toward the Cubs and their renovation plans, the team says it wants to move forward and start construction.

Rooftop owners told the team they would not sue if the team stuck to their original plan to add two large signs behind the outfield bleachers.

The team now wants as many as seven signs after negotiations stalled with the rooftop owners.

In a statement, a team spokesperson says they will present their expanded plan to the city's Landmarks Council next week in the hopes of securing approval starting the work.
