A judge denied a motion to drop the case against four Northern Illinois University fraternity brothers charged in connection with the death of a pledge.
David Bogenberger, 19, died in November of 2012. Police said he was pressured to drink alcohol while pledging a fraternity.
Lawyers for those charged in his death argued the state's hazing law is too vague. The judge disagreed.
Thursday's ruling covers four of the five people charged in the case. A decision is expected next week in the case against the fifth defendant.
