North Ave. pedestrian bridge reopens after repairs

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The North Avenue pedestrian bridge over Lake Shore Drive reopened Thursday after being closed since April for repairs.

The bridge has been closed since April 11 to replace the bridge deck and the girders to ensure it was ready for a high volume of beachgoers this summer.

Chicago Department of Transportation workers put the final touches on the North Avenue pedestrian bridge Thursday.
