35-year-old man shot during fight in Near North Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 35-year-old man was shot after a verbal altercation in the city's Near North Side, police said.

The incident occurred Sunday morning in the 100-block of Chicago Avenue near State Street, police said. The victim, whose identity has not been released, sustained a gunshot wound to the abdomen and was transferred to Northwestern Hospital.

No one has been taken into custody.
