OAK BROOK, Ill. (WLS) -- An 86-year-old woman died in a crash on west suburban Oak Brook.

Emergency crews responded to the scene of the accident on eastbound 31st Street near I-294 just before 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Investigators said a red Ford Escort was disabled in the right lane. Police said when a vehicle in front of a white GMC Sierra made a sudden lane change, the truck struck the car.

The elderly woman was driving the Escort. First responders found her unresponsive and started medical treatment in the field, police said. She was rushed to a hospital, where she later died.

The DuPage County Coroner's Office identified the victim as Eleanor Spevak, 86, of Brookfield, Ill.

A 27-year-old Villa Park man was driving the Sierra. He was not seriously hurt, but was taken to a hospital to get checked out.
