Police warn of residential burglaries in Palos Heights

PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. (WLS) -- Police are warning residents of burglaries in the Oak Hills community in Palos Heights.

During an attempted burglary, which occurred during the daytime hours Friday in the 13300-block of Oak Hills Parkway, the offender allegedly fled on foot after realizing that the homeowner was present, police said. The homeowner told police that the offender, a Hispanic male, had allegedly attempted to pry open the front door with a tool.

A similar residential burglary, which also occurred during the daytime, was reported from the 7800-block of Golf Drive.
