Pedestrian struck by Metra train in Palatine

PALATINE, Ill. (WLS) -- A person is dead after being struck by a Metra train in suburban Palatine, officials said.

Metra said the victim was struck around 9:30 p.m. Saturday near Colfax Street and Quentin Road. The collision caused significant delays, but normal service has resumed on the Union Pacific Northwest line Sunday.

The victim's identity has not been released and police are continuing to investigate.
