A dog found walking along Interstate 65 in northwest Indiana was reunited Friday afternoon with her owner, Indiana State Police said.

Troopers found "Maggie" at about 2:30 a.m. Friday walking near Ridge Road in Hobart.

Police said she appeared to be a German shepherd, about a year old, with black fur, brown paws and a friendly disposition. Troopers said she seems to be well-trained and was found wearing a red, nylon collar, but her tag was not attached.

She was taken to the state police post in Lowell for temporary care, before being reunited with her family.
