CHICAGO (WLS) -- A local shelter is caring for some bunnies abandoned in a parking lot, and there are fears more may be out there.

At least seven domestic rabbits were dumped near Irving Park Road and California Avenue last week.

People living nearby called the Red Door Animal Shelter, which took them in.

Red Door says they were already overwhelmed after taking in Easter pets that were no longer wanted.
