Elf is a 5-year-old, 15-pound beagle rescue living in Chicago's South Loop who may soon find a furever home.
One day after the foster dog was featured on ABC7Chicago.com, several people submitted applications to adopt him, according to the Wadsworth, Ill.,-based beagle rescue, Midwest Beagle Rescue, Education & Welfare. Currently, he is being fostered by an ABC7 Chicago staffer.
The rescue said Thursday they are no longer accepting applications.
While he is no longer available, he joins many other beagles available for adoption.

Elf came to Chicago from Ohio about six weeks ago after he was surrendered by his owner because he did not want to hunt.
Elf was very scared (and smelly!) when he arrived at his foster home, but has slowly building up his confidence. His newly acquired skills include: walking on a leash, riding in elevators, riding in a car and making friends at the Fred Anderson Dog Park.
He's still skittish and unsure of humans, even his foster mom who has introduced him to the joys of belly rubs.
His shyness has not hindered his epic mischief. He has had some riotous times while his mom was at work. He may be small, but he has big plans.
