CHICAGO HEIGHTS, Ill. (WLS) -- The ABC7 I-Team has an update on a story involving the traffic stop of a suburban park district police chief last week.

The Chicago Heights Park District Board voted Monday night to suspend its police chief, Jose Maldonado, without pay until the investigation is finished.

He faces 10 charges, including drunken driving, after he allegedly tried to drive down a closed ramp on the Dan Ryan Expressway, activated police lights on his personal car, backed up the ramp and sped off.

A state police trooper pulled Maldonado over minutes later and arrested him.
